IQAC: Internal Quality Assurance Cell

About: The Cell ensures continuous improvement in institutional performance and maintains quality standards in academic and administrative activities. It promotes best practices and periodic assessments for accreditation processes.

Objectives
  • To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
  • To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.
  • Development and application of quality benchmarks.
  • Parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution;
  • Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process;
  • Collection and analysis of feedback from all stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes;
  • Dissemination of information on various quality parameters to all stakeholders;
  • Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles;
  • Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement;
  • Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices; h) Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality;

Disciplinary Committee

About: This committee maintains discipline within the institution, addressing misconduct and implementing necessary corrective measures to uphold a positive learning environment

Objectives
  • To maintain the activities of college joint venture in regards to disciplinary act.
  • To uplift the student’s potential and to develop them as a balanced citizen in the society.
  • The institute is driven with a passion and mission for imparting peaceful, safe and friendly environment.
  • To scrutinize and prevent any in disciplinary activities (lack of attendance, unpunctuality, misbehaving with staff, patients or colleague, damage to hospital and college property) and riots.
  • To provide a medium through which the committee can monitor and control the discipline of its students.
  • To promote self-discipline among students
  • To make the rules and regulations as per the disciplinary requirement.
  • To make the student aware about the discipline.
  • To make the student follow the disciplinary rules.
  • To take disciplinary action against any of the misconduct.

Anti-Ragging Committee

About: Formed to prevent ragging incidents, it ensures a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all students by enforcing strict anti-ragging policies.

Objectives

The committee is tasked with the responsibility of furthering the ideals of the UGC Regulation and any other laws put in place with regards to the menace of ragging by the Governments of India and the State of Karnataka.

  • To Prevent, Prohibit, and Redress any and all forms and instances of Ragging in the College.
  • To educate the students on the meaning of ragging and what constitutes it.
  • To educate the students on the ill-effects of ragging and the consequences, including legal consequences of indulging in ragging.
  • To conduct awareness programmes on the menace of ragging, its impact, consequences and redressal mechanism available.
  • To enquire into any instances of ragging that have been reported, and if necessary, take all appropriate action against the students found to have indulged in ragging.
  • Assist the Principal and other authorities of Ramaiah College of Law if necessary, in notifying the appropriate authorities in cases of ragging.

Alumni Association Committee

About: This committee fosters a strong relationship between the institution and its alumni, encouraging networking and support for current students through mentorship and career opportunities.

Objectives
  • To communicate on regular basis with the members of the Alumni and the University keeping mutually informed the developments of the Alumni as well as the University.
  • To foster more extended relationships between present students and staff and others associated with the University.
  • To organize, social, educational and networking events locally at the University, College / Institution / School / Center and at batch level.
  • To encourage  Alumni  to  act  ambassadors  of the  University  and  assist in the further development of the members & the University.
  • Generate funds for the development and betterment of the University and also for the promotion of the objectives of the association.
  • To provide continuing education enrichment experience for alumni and present students of the University.
  • To provide for the Alumni platform to connect to University and to assist recent graduates and current students in shaping their career.
  • To institute prizes, scholarships to merit students and financial aid to poor and deserving students of the University.
  • To hold periodical alumni meetings at Local, Regional, National and International levels and at University, college and batch level and publish the activities of the society periodically.
  • To do all other things incidental or conductive to the attainment of the above objects.
  • To maintain books of Accounts/bills/vouchers/Receipts and get the Annual Audit done.
  • Annual Alumni Meet:

    Alumni Committee organizes alumni meet to facilitate the reunion of the alumni. Alumni from all the batches across all programmes come together to bond with the institute and relive their old memories. The meet spans across the whole day including various interactive sessions, panel discussions and fun filled activities.

    City Meets:

    City meets are organized twice in a year. Summer City Meets – Current students pursuing SIPs in respective cities get an opportunity to interact with alumni and build their network. These are usually conducted in the month of April/ May. Winter City Meets – Organized over October and November, these meets allow alumni to relive IIM Raipur memories with fellow batch mates and alumni.

    Interactive Sessions:

    Knowledge sessions are organized, where our alumni come and share their experiences about their work and industry. This imparts the practical knowledge to the students and helps in relating whatever we are studying to the real corporate scenario. The students get a picture of the corporate life and expectations from them.

    Mentorship Program:

    Our alumni mentor the first and second year students and help them in grooming them further. This prepares them for the summer internships as well as final placements. Alumni Committee helps in connecting the students with alumni having similar interests thus giving a boost to the aspirations of students. Due to the continuous interactive nature, alumni are also well versed with the happenings in the institute.

    Annual Newsletter:

    Aluminati the bi-annual newsletter contains the highlights of all the activities happening in our college. Special features and interviews with Alumni makes the newsletter worth a read.

Admission Committee

About: Responsible for overseeing the admission process, this committee ensures transparency, merit-based selection, and adherence to institutional and government guidelines.

Objectives

The objectives of this committee are to increase number of admission in various courses conducted by the college. Also to give advertisement by way of distributing pamphlets, by counseling and by organizing camps etc.

  • Committee assists to the management in getting maximum admissions in various courses conducted by the College.
  • To act as a coordinator with other college committees and faculty staff to receive and to give suggestions regarding admissions.
  • To prepare list of admitted students and to submit to principal.
  • To check original documents of the students.
  • To keep personal file of the students with proper certificates.
  • Categorically sort out General, OBC, SC/ST and minority on percentage wise.
  • To organize camps for admission purpose.

Hostel Committee

About: It manages the functioning and maintenance of hostel facilities, ensuring students’ safety, comfort, and overall well-being in their residential environment.

Objectives
  • To provide suitable and comfortable accommodation for residing students.
  • To ensure that students coming from different places learn to live together and strengthen their relations with mutual cooperation and goodwill.
  • To develop a climate congenial for sports, yoga, etc. in the hostel.
  • To ensure that the students are able to devote adequate time to their studies in the hostel.
  • To improve their general knowledge, newspapers and educative periodicals are provided in recreation room
  • To provide relaxation to the students through recreational facilities at the hostel
  • To motivate the students in participating in indoor and outdoor games in the hostel.
  • To develop an affordable environment to the students by ensuring hygienic and peaceful circumstances.
  • To observe the students adhering to rules and regulations and take actions or resolutions for in-disciplinary actions.
  • To look after the day-to-day problems of the students and appoint the student committee member as floor in charge to supervise the activities of the students.
  • To take care of the students to maintain their health and provide medical support in any kind of illness in the hostel.
  • To engage the students in activities in the hostel such as recreation and dining hour, etc.
  • Daksha have formed an active Hostel Committee consisting of a convenor, Member Secretary, Faculty and Student Committee members, who are selected by Principal, Daksha First College. The Committee will actively participate in or collaborate with the Warden in the routine functioning and organizing of all activities of the Hostel to ensure smooth running of the Hostel activities.
  • The Convener is the Head of the Committee and looks after the general welfare of students and residential life in Hostels and advices the Member secretary and committee members on matters concerning their functions.
  • The committee actively meets once a month to discuss and mutually settle hostel affairs. The Member secretary maintains Minutes of meeting of hostel committee.
  • The member Secretary is appointed as a liaison person between warden and students in the hostel by the Principal, Daksha.
  • All kind of Leave applications of the students will be forwarded to the warden by Member Secretary and Convener.
  • Member secretary and Faculty committee member will periodically visit the room of the students and will be in contact with the warden to make the students adhere to the rules and regulations of the hostel.
  • The Convener and committee members shall keep close contact with the students and pay attention to their health, hygiene, recreational facilities and maintenance of sanitation in the hostel.
  • Member Secretary and Faculty committee member will have responsibility to observe the hostel rules and regulations properly and maintain discipline and shall promptly report to the convener and warden all cases of misbehavior, indiscipline and sickness of the residents in the hostel.
  • The member secretary will check Attendance register and leave register.
  • Committee encourages indoor and outdoor sports activities to promote the welfare of the students.
  • The activities of committee will be observed and guided by Convener of the Committee.

Grievance & Redressal Committee

About: This committee addresses complaints from students, staff, or faculty, ensuring prompt resolution of issues related to academics, administration, or personal concerns.

Objectives
  • Fair Resolution of Complaints: The primary purpose of the committee is to provide a fair and impartial mechanism for resolving grievances related to academic, administrative, or interpersonal issues.
  • Support and Guidance: The committee offers support to individuals who may feel aggrieved or disadvantaged, providing guidance on how to address their concerns effectively.
  • Preventing Escalation: By addressing grievances in a timely and effective manner, the committee helps prevent issues from escalating into more serious conflicts or disputes.
  • Maintaining a Positive Environment: The committee aims to uphold a positive and respectful environment within the college by addressing issues that could impact the well-being and productivity of students and staff.
  • Receiving Complaints: The committee receives complaints or grievances through formal channels, such as written submissions or online forms, as well as informal channels.
  • Reviewing and Evaluating: The committee reviews each grievance to determine its validity and severity. This involves assessing evidence and understanding the context of the issue.
  • Investigating Issues: For serious or complex grievances, the committee conducts investigations to gather all relevant information and understand the root cause of the problem.
  • Mediating Disputes: The committee may mediate between parties involved in a dispute to facilitate a resolution that is acceptable to all parties.
  • Recommending Actions: Based on their findings, the committee makes recommendations for resolving the grievance. This may include disciplinary actions, policy changes, or other corrective measures.
  • Monitoring Implementation: The committee ensures that its recommendations are implemented effectively and monitors the outcome to ensure that the issue is resolved satisfactorily. 
  • Maintaining Records: The committee keeps detailed records of all grievances, investigations, and resolutions for transparency and future reference.
  • Reporting: The committee provides regular reports to the college administration on the status and outcomes of grievances, helping to identify any recurring issues or areas for improvement.

Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee

About: The committee ensures a safe and respectful campus environment by addressing cases of sexual harassment and promoting gender equality through awareness and legal action.

Objectives

Daksha is committed towards zero tolerance policy towards sexual harassment at workplace. We have imbibed a gender neutral policy taking cues from the ideology and philosophy of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 coupled with University Grants Commission (Prevention, prohibition and Redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and students in higher educational institutions) Regulations, 2015. The College will ensure the effective implementation of the Policy on Sexual Harassment at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal), in its true spirit.

  • The ICC is the nodal committee in an Institution that overviews the implementation of the Policy on Sexual Harassment at workplace.
  • Resolving the complaints filed by the aggrieved person(s).
  • Recommend appropriate action(s) to be taken by the Principal.
  • To educate and create awareness to all the necessary stakeholders of the Institution about the sexual harassment at workplace, its effects and laws against it, and filing of complaint with the ICC.

Research Committee

About: It encourages and oversees research activities within the institution, providing support and resources to foster innovation, publications, and academic contributions.

Objectives
  • Promote and coordinate multidisciplinary research in the college
  • Encourage faculty to engage in research in their respective fields, and thereby enable an efficient exchange of knowledge and ideas with the student community
  • Spread awareness on the importance of ethical practices and considerations in research
  • Encourage and support student-centric research projects
  • Motivate and conduct workshops on research methodology for students and faculty
  • Paper presentations in college by students to be encouraged
  • Create an environment in the campus to promote collaborative research among faculty and students from various departments
  • Develop educational collaborations with industry, other colleges, Universities and institutions of higher learning
  • Create an academic culture that follows sustainable research works
  • Create awareness among students and members of the faculty about conducting research that is original and authentic
  • To prepare annual research activity plan for all the departments.
  • To establish liaison with near and far industry and identify the technological challenges being faced by them.
  • Take up appropriate problems of the industry for finding solutions through R&D projects assigned to faculty and students.
  • Explore technological developmental opportunities in common application areas such as transport, traffic regulation, security, healthcare etc. and assign them to faculty and students.
  • To initiate and promote MoU with industries and R&D organizations for consultancy, collaborative research, sponsored projects, industry and Institute interactions etc.
  • To arrange brainstorming sessions through talks by eminent personalities from industry, R& D organizations and institutions of repute for the better understanding of research methodology and practices currently followed.
  • To support faculty for delivering talks at different events and conducting workshops, training programs, seminars, conferences, symposia and faculty development programs.
  • To keep everyone informed about announcements by various funding agencies like DST, DAE, DRDO, ISRO, CSIR, AICTE, UGC and University etc.
  • To motivate students for presenting papers in National and International conferences and projects in competitions Interdepartmental / collaborative work to be encouraged.
  • To monitor progress of the research and development activity.

SC/ST Redressal Committee

About: This committee works towards the welfare and protection of SC/ST students, ensuring their rights and equal opportunities in academic and extracurricular activities.

Objectives
  • To implement, monitor and evaluate continuously the Reservation Policy in the Institute (if any applicable).
  • To take necessary steps of measuring for ensuring effective implementation of the policy & programmes/schemes of the State and Central Govt. for SC/ST, if any.
  • To ensure the Prevention of Atrocities (as defined within the meaning of this Act) on the SC/ST Staff, Faculty and Students.
  • To hear and resolve the issues/complaints if any; of such nature of Atrocity reported/complained.
  • To conduct the inquiries on the reported & complained issues and to aid the Management of the Institute in this regard for the justice and smooth functioning of the Institute.
  • To counsel and guide SC/ ST students and help them to manage academic and personal issues if any.
  • To inform the SC/ST students regarding various scholarships / program of State Govt. and UGC.
  • Function as a Grievances Redressal Cell for the grievances of SC/ST students and employees of the college and render them necessary help in solving their academic as well as administrative problems.
  • To ensure the Prevention of Atrocities on the SC, ST Staff, Faculty and Students.
  • To hear and resolve the issues/complaints if any; of such nature of Atrocity reported/complained.

NSS Suggestion Committee

About: The NSS promotes community service and social responsibility among students, organizing outreach programs that benefit society and contribute to national development.

Objectives
  • Understand the community in which they work
  • Understand themselves in relation to their community
  • Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving
  • Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility
  • Utilise their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems
  • Develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities
  • Gain skills in mobilising community participation
  • Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes
  • Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters
  • Practise national integration and social harmony
  • To assist and guide the NSS unit for implementation of NSS programs at college level
  • To advise in organizing camps, training and orientation programs for the NSS volunteers
  • To visit the NSS units for monitoring and evaluation
  • To ensure implementation of NSS regular activities and special camping programs

Cultural Committee

About: Responsible for organizing cultural events and fostering creativity, this committee enhances students’ exposure to various art forms and cultural activities.

Objectives

To promote and arrange extracurricular activities to bring out the talents of students in the performing arts.

  • The Cultural Committee shall be responsible for all intra and inter collegiate cultural events in the College.
  • To plan and schedule cultural events for the academic year. (Tentative dates to be included in the academic calendar of the institute.)
  • To prepare budget for all cultural events and take necessary steps for its approval.
  • The Convener of the committee shall conduct a meeting of the committee to discuss and delegate task
  • Procedure to organize cultural events:
    • To prepare the Annual Budget for various cultural event
    • To obtain formal permission from the College authorities to arrange program
    • To decide the date, time and agenda of the program
    • To inform members of staff and students about the event
    • To arrange the venue and logistics (audio/video system, dais, podium etc).
    • To invite the Chief Guest and other dignitaries
    • To arrange mementos for guests and gifts/certificates for the participants
  • The committee shall display on the Notice Board/Website information about festivals to be celebrate

Event Management Committee

About: This committee plans and executes institutional events, ensuring smooth coordination, logistics, and participation to make events successful and memorable.

Objectives

Sports Committee

About: Focused on promoting physical fitness and sportsmanship, the committee organizes sports events, encouraging students to engage in various athletic activities.

Objectives
  • The college facilities for sports and games activities for students both indoor and outdoor.
  • Students are encouraged to participate in institutional sports events.
  • The winners at the college will be considered for participation at inter college and inter university level.
  • To organize training, Coaching and education in sports for everybody so that they can learn to keep themselves physically fit.
  • To prepare sports calendar and an action plan to implement the same.
  • To create zeal amongst students and faculty members towards sports.

  • To achieve the goals we plan to organize various competitions in the following sports: cricket, football,basketball, volleyball, ball badminton, throw ball, shuttle badminton, kabaddi, khokho, carom, chess and table tennis etc.
  • To make sure smooth conduct of sports events within the college.
  • To maintain record of sports and games events attended by students within the college, university and outside of the region/state.
  • Proper maintenance of sports accessories.
  • To provide necessary infrastructure for the sports
  • To take up the responsibility of preparing the budget estimate, requirement of infrastructure equipment,maintaining the equipment and play fields.
  • Selection of teams to represent the college in inter-collegiate tournaments and also the intramuraltournaments.
  • To prepare the details of attendance exemption to be given to the students representing college in various sports and games

Training & Placement Cell

About:  It facilitates career guidance, internships, and placement opportunities for students, ensuring they are well-prepared for professional challenges.

Objectives

The Primary objective of a Training and Placement cell is to provide employment opportunities to students by inviting companies for campus placements. Placement cells work towards bridging the gap between academia and the industry by helping students develops the skills and knowledge required by the industry.

  • To get profiles which have futuristic growth with wider horizon.
  • Get in touch with corporate, Start-ups from different sectors and tap in opportunities.
  • Maintain database of companies and establishing strategic links for campus recruitment.
  • Maintain corporate relations with past, potential and future recruiters.
  • To assist recruiters to achieve their hiring goals.
  • Develop a sense of trust, belief amongst the industry on Daksha First Grade College.
  • Encourage the students for upgrading their knowledge & skills required for placements.

  • Train and prepare students to meet the expectations of employers. This enhances the employability rate of students.
  • Arranges internships and industrial visits to provide students with practical exposure to the industry and work culture.
  • The placement cell conducts resume-building workshops to help students create effective resumes. These workshops provide students with valuable insights into the elements of a successful resume.
  • Maintains a database of students and alumni, tracks their progress and employment status, and provides guidance and counseling to students throughout the job search process.
  • Campus recruitment drives are organized by the placement cell to invite various companies to the campus to hire students. This event provides a platform for students to showcase their skills and abilities and interact with potential employers.
  • The placement cell invites industry experts to conduct workshops and seminars on various industry-related topics.
